  • Worker safety training. Empowering workers with continuous safety training – such as with videos, worksheets and onsite training – can lead to increased alertness and awareness throughout the site, as well as to help make workers more proactive in maintaining a risk-free zone.
  • Open, swift communication. When workers are free and equipped to communicate with one another and alert each other of risks, issues and problems onsite, they can help reduce the potential for accidents on the job.

Jorge Gutman: The Basics of Project Management

As a Miami-based construction professional for more than 30 years, Jorge Gutman understands just how crucial apt project management is to the completion of any residential or commercial build. Currently the Managing Member of FOF Investments, LLC – and the longtime owner of J. Gutman Construction, Inc. • Planning and initiation. This phase typically involves project design, outlining the project budget and determining the steps and tasks needed to complete to get the job done as efficiently as possible.
  • Implementation. This is where the project leaves the planning phase and dives right into action – where the project manager(s) will ensure every party involved is executing on the plan in a timely and orderly fashion.

Control and monitoring. This phase, as Jorge Gutman knows, tends to overlap with execution – though it’s centered more on ensuring each aspect of the project is being carried through on schedule and within the budget. This is also where problems are resolved.

Jorge Gutman Shares Important Scuba Diving Safety Rules

Jorge Gutman has been a certified scuba diver and underwater photographer since 1982 and for more than 35 years, he has enjoyed the ability to explore beautiful underwater landscapes. However, he also understands that safety is paramount when exploring underwater. According to Jorge Gutman, adhering to basic underwater diving safety can be the difference between a memorable experience seeing a new and beautiful ocean world or serious and sometimes fatal injury and shares the following scuba diving safety rules.

Always dive within your limits: Under no circumstances should anyone dive beyond their limit.

Plan the dive and dive the plan: Planning your dive before you enter the water is essential when it comes to scuba safety.

Check your gauges regularly: Even though it sounds like common sense, many scuba diving accidents occur due to a distracted diver focused on other things.

Check (and recheck) your diving equipment: Always check your equipment before you begin a dive to make sure that everything has been maintained and serviced properly.

In addition to the above, Jorge Gutman cautions that divers must make sure they are ready to venture underwater. If you are feeling unprepared, never attempt to dive. Not only do you put yourself at risk of serious injury, an unprepared diver risks the safety of the diving group.
